return

Hello! I’m back, well, I’m back from a visual point of view. I can take pictures again. (the ones my phone takes are rubbish – or I’m rubbish taking pictures with the phone camera, your pick, I don’t care, bottom line is the resulting phone camera photos were rubbish.) I found an old semi-retired now kind of dated 1.3 megapixel camera in a desk drawer here. I charged up the AA batteries it needs to work (also old and barely capable of holding a charge…). But thankfully I’m now back to a decent enough lens and for internet use perfect snapshot file sizes. And I also went out to buy a card reader to upload the photos because the camera is so old that the shop didn’t have the necessary usb port cable.

So today I’ll show you the results of the past two ceramic painting sessions (visit this CED blog for even more ceramic painting).

This mug I painted as part of my solitaire birthday celebration. I very much enjoyed painting it. I’m only learning how to use these ceramic paints. When I picked up the mug I was nearly disapointed, it is so not what I had in mind… but I use this mug every day and it’s starting to grow on me.

The next piece is a cereal bowl, well, it’s a bowl, but I intend to use it primarily for cereal in the mornings along with the mug I painted a few months ago. I love this midnight blue colour in contrast with the white ceramic. You can look at the finished mug here.

I tried myself with a rim pattern. It’s hard to make out in the photo, below the white triangles the bowl is plain blue like the mug.
