19th of January – another beach visit

I went down to the beach today. Just wanted to look out and breath deeply a few times before getting on with the day ahead. I don’t usually go to this particular beach but it’s just around the corner from the center I do a bit of voluntary work in.

A little old stone bridge straddles the little river that meets the sea there.

The sign at the waterside was saddening but good to see, nonetheless, as this particular beach is very popular for bathing during the summer months. The area is predominantly farmland and these streams are essentially fed by ditch water, run-offs of all the fields in the area which is mostly grass pasture on marl. It has a lot of standing water during most of the year especially when it rains heavily.
