25th of January – fibers on friday

An entire month has gone by since Christmas. Thankfully the days are beginning to feel longer here on the hill. Daylight creeps into the house around 7 am and we finally have sunsets again. Mind you it has been so dull and overcast for most of the month of January that at times you feel it’s not getting bright at all. Day after day goes by with no sunshine or blue sky at all, but we are inching our way towards the first day of spring. Another week and we will be officially there.

I do try to go for a walk most days regardless of the weather.

Otherwise I’m housebound. I had manure delivered for the veg garden but it’s a bog out there even though we live on a slope. I’m forced to stay inside regrdless of the fact that garden prep for the new season really need to be done asap.

Instead of gardening I get to knit. These are the socks I knitted in December. I’ve done another pair but that went out to a dear friend of mine, Beth, for a swap and I forgot to take a photo before parcelling them up.
