week 2 – another pace run

Another run – done. That’s the best part of it. I’m training for pace and I find it extraordinarily difficult to do that. I tried to run on ‘level’ ground as much as that is possible where I am. It doesn’t feel like I’m getting faster at all. Instead I am getting slower (overall and on any uphill stretches).

But I guess it’s early days and Rome wasn’t built in a day etc.

I do have a feeling my cadence has improved though. I am moving my legs faster and ‘feel’ faster on the downhills anyway. Maybe it is the increase of cadence that has me struggling so much on the uphill sections…

My decision for the next training session is made though, I’m driving down to Courtown to run along the coastal tarmac road for my next session. It’s a cul-de-sac and there is zero traffic there. It’s not flat-flat down there but nothing like what we have up here.
I just don’t like the idea of driving to somewhere to run when I have runner’s heaven just out my back door, I guess needs must!

Oh and yes, it was freezing cold and there even was some snow! It was only a little bit though and I enjoyed it very much.
