I’ve had terrible trouble with our web hosting company. Up until yesterday they seem to have lost the content of my blog. It’s a complicated thing, I won’t bore you with the details. The only thing that really annoyed me during the waiting period was that they were not owning up to it. I mean shit happens. Data sometimes gets lost. Any data loss would have been as much my fault as theirs for not doing regular back-ups. It was nearly two weeks that I patiently waited for them to reinstall from what I hoped they had (their back-up) but they were not forth coming. And during all this time I stopped keeping track of training here on the blog. And.that.pisses.me.off more than anything else. If they had just said, sorry we screwed up, I’d just have got on with it. Instead I waited to go back, waiting, waiting, waiting for them believing if I wait, they will fix.
This is so first world, it’s pathetic. Yet my impatience got the better of me and I switched to the wp site thinking well, f*** them and their incompetence.
I actually posted two posts there which I am now including in here, back dating them so they aren’t lost.
Seeing that I’m writing this here, it is obvious they finally fixed the problem and my blog is back up. I do want to thank the people at the hosting company for their efforts to re-install my blog. I’m so glad it’s back. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
