traces of life

In a former life I started a university degree in Geology. One of the modules I took was a course on >fossils and the history of life<. I still don't know that much about fossils I never studied that course in the end, because my mum became very ill and passed away during that time while I was suppose to study. I do know a bit more about life now, I guess. :-p Here's me on my hands and knees looking at the rock surface on the cliffs at Hook Head, Co. Wexford.

And the second picture is a close up of that same stretch of rock around my knees. In a different time some good few million years ago, I could have described this as teeming with life, Now it’s just rocks…
