1st of October – weather view

First I was going to start by saying, the cold days will come soon, but I can’t say that in all honesty because, well, we had an awful lot of cold this year, so much so, that I can’t say we had much of a summer. Instead there was an incredible amount of cold, windy weather with lots of rain and (beautiful) dramatic cloud formations.

This year my summer has been dominated by living in and enjoying the new house and making it our home for the time we are here. Sometimes I don’t know how long we will live here, I have stopped planning too far ahead. But that doesn’t stop me from settling in as if I will live here for years as oppose to a year for that is the minimum but also possibly the maximum because it’s what it says in the lease. However, I am an optimist and though I don’t mind moving again if that turns out to be our path, for the time I live here and now and with the possibility of staying here beyond May of next year.

So I spent a huge amount of time in the garden and it’s only now that the days are getting shorter and the weather even worse that I find myself indoors for longer stretches, stretches that are long enough for me to get busy with all my other projects. Yes, there is the refurbishment of the kitchen and the plastering of the studio wall and some interior decorating to be done… but that aside I do intend to get busy with my stuff, art, writing, blogging, pottery, knitting, sculpturing, photography.

Speaking of photography, with my new phone I got myself a load of new fun photography apps. And I have enjoyed playing with those over the last couple of weeks. Here some of my favorite weather photos using the filters that come with some of the apps:

The last photo shows the morning light over the sea. It’s possibly my favorite time of day looking out towards the north from our living room window. It’s rarely as spectacular as this though.
