saying goodbye to the old year

It was another bonfire night. Freezing cold, because of the recent heavy rainfall the lawn was drenched in water and I spent three hours standing in 6 inches of muck wearing wellies, but it was worth it. The sky was beautiful, every cloud had a silver lining, there was a full moon. And it started to snow at around 10 p.m. which made it that little bit more magical.

I burnt all the things I wanted to leave behind. They are gone. A new year has started and it’s all fresh and clean.

Beatiful picture, and what a lovely and visceral way to shed past unwanted stuff. I like it. :-)
