25th of November – secret garden

November 25th, 2010 at 1:39

Friends of mine planted a tree in a lovely public garden for me and my son. It’s a beautiful Robinsonian style garden with old stone walls, big trees and beautiful ferns and mosses. At one of the remote back corners of said garden is a little archway with an iron gate. I imagine if I were to step though that gate, a whole new world would open up like this gate is a portal into a parallel universe.

secret garden – pencil sketch

I did this sketch after a long day at the computer at 1 a.m. in the morning, it is unfinished for now. I’ll add the leaves of the overhanging branches some other night.

P.S. I took another photograph this morning in daylight and updated the post.
-Note to self: Don’t try to take pictures at 2 a.m. in the pitch black dark.-

That’s a great mental note, my pictures never turn out if I take them at that hour either. What a great sketch, it looks so welcoming especially on this very cold morning here.

How wonderful that your friends planted the tree in honor of you and your son. I love the image of the portal taking you into an unknown. I hope it’s a beautiful mystery.
