30th of November – memories of summer

November 30th, 2010 at 16:12

I have been busy all day working on the computer. There was very little time to enjoy the at times beautiful snowy weather (even though the snow was melting) outside and absolutely no time to continue working on yesterdays painting. It is dark now, so unfortunately this daily AEDM will not finish with a post about an already started project.

I painted the little watercolour painting from a postcard (one of the many cards in previously mentioned shoebox.) I bought it years ago in Co. Galway. It brings back memories of the summers in the West.

the boats and their men – watercolour 3.5″x6.5″ (9×17cm)

I enjoyed AEDM immensely. I have surprised myself how dedicated I became to pull this one through and to actually post every single day especially towards the end of the month. I also did NaNoWriMo for the second time in two years. I enjoyed writing, it as a very, very valuable experience and my imagination has taken me to unknown shores in my book. But the creative everyday challenges was the more cherished of the two challenges.

I explored lots of new crafts and art, I have started my very own sketchbook project, I have started new painting techniques and above all I have so many ideas and have been inspired by other participants work and feel fueled up to just keep going on December 1st.

I want to thank everyone who participated in AEDM for being part of this great challenge. I thank you for your wonderful, beautiful work. I thank everyone for reading my posts, I am thankful for the many comments and praises I received.

And I want to thank Leah for her dedication despite all the technical difficulties, for posting not just the daily check-in but also all of her beautiful art work.

To me creative everyday is no longer a challenge but a conscious choice to look, see, do, experiment, create, recognize, learn and widen my horizon wherever I go, whatever I do next.

P.S. I just went over the CED to post in the daily post widget and underneath I read the following quote:

This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. -Winston Churchill

Leah and I seem to be on a strange, trans-Atlantic wave length :-)

That’s just what I needed as an antidote to the unending grey skies around here. Blue skies and water sounds just about perfect.
