19th of march – down at the harbour

March 19th, 2011 at 20:18

Spring is in the air in Ireland. We’ve had two lovely warm days (warm for Ireland anyway). I drove down to the little harbour village near us and looked out at the sea. The harbour is still very empty. During the summer there are about 25 sailing boat tied to tightly packed buoys, it’s a small miracle they don’t bash into each other every year. Then again, maybe they do it’s just that the people affected don’t talk about it so nobody knows.

It’s a tiny little harbour but there are about 6 fishing boats operating from there. I think they were all in when I was down, so I took out my sketchbook and did a rough drawing that I started to paint in with watercolours when I came home.

I really enjoyed this little sketch. I’ve been extremely busy working on this years vegetable garden. I’ve been doing a lot of planning and in the process I enjoyed making a coloured sketch of the garden. I posted the pictures of the sketches on my gardening blog. thanks, Amy! I’s nice of you to comment on my work, I sometimes think this place hardly get’s traffic and I love all the comments you leave all the time, especially when they’re full of praise, too!
