22nd of march – still life 10 years appart

March 22nd, 2011 at 21:35

When I lived in Dun Laoghaire 10 years ago we rented a small basement apartment in an old Georgian House. A well known architec had turned the building into apartments, they were small but nifty and out the back we had a pond water feature, a deck and fancy plants. I had moved there from a house with a garden and I had brought some of my plants along with me and placed them throughout the garden. It was then i started painting water colours.

I can see from the painting I had already started my pebble collection then!

Today we had our first warm day. There is so much bloom emerging everywhere.
I don’t really plant flowers anymore. Now everything I plant is edible. Here in this house the only flowers are spring bulbs I planted about three years ago. It is at this time of the year they award me with their colourful display.
