31st of march – lighthouse

March 30th, 2011 at 19:49

hook head – watercolour

The lighthouse in this painting is very well known here in Ireland, it stands on the south easterly tip of the island of Ireland on rocky outcrops which are made up of fossilized sea life from the Cambrian, Carboniferous and Devonian Periods… I did a few years of Geology in college but have forgotten most of what I learned. I do know it’s a spectacular site to visit though, not just for the beautiful scenery but also for the ground beneath your feet.

Wow … that is gorgeous :-) I wish I had even one artistic bone in my body, but I don’t :-( Love it.

Beautifully done. You can just feel the wind coming off the water!

Gorgeous painting, so light infused and fluid that I feel like I’m at the shore!
