the practice of being creative everyday

February 12th, 2010 at 15:04

I’ve been busy over the last couple of days busy with admin stuff and other. I’m restless, but I decided to doodle a bit and started working on the mouth and nose. I think I’ll leave it like that. Maybe one day I’ll add some more body parts, an arm and hand maybe, but the piece of wood doesn’t lend itself to an entire body. It’s completely straight.

WOW- this is beautiful and so serene Ines. Just lovely. I think it stands alone – as a head- just fine -everything else is filled in with my ‘mind’s eye’. Is all of the carving done with the knife-from the earlier post?

no i used one of the bits from the rotary tool for the finer stuff, the wood is to soft and brittle for the finer knife work, knife is good for smooth surfaces though.
