small and simple

February 24th, 2010 at 21:53

I’m heading off for two long weeks and I’m not looking forward to it.
I’ve turned into a real home bird. I like it here, I like my life with my husband and my cats and my garden and my new studio. Do you think I’ll be able to bring a rotary tool and a bag of pebbles as hand luggage. I think not… Maybe I should settle for my water colour set or I could always go back to finishing my NaNoWriMo novel.

I know once I get there, I’ll be fine. There will be lots of hustle and bustle, I can go drink fancy coffee in cool coffee shops, visit galleries, enjoy public transport! It will be nice. Just not home. Maybe it’s time to make myself a little touchstone for my pocket while away.

A small one like one of these (I have to make myself one, all these have all gone off to the post office today to travel far, far away to various online friends…)

These are beautiful Ines! So ‘big and small’ at the same time-
I have been away from the computer and am getting caught up today- I hope that you have a great trip and it will make coming back home even more special-see lots of gallery stuff! and have safe travels!

    These are so lovely.
Goodness, are you making them with a rotary tool? Through stone!? I’ve always wanted a few spiral stones around the house but thought one needed some specialist equipment.

Enjoy not-home… if nothing else, it helps you appreciate home even more, and often shakes up our creativity.

You definitely should make your self one – they are so cute!
